Mebendazole Powder

        Mebendazole Powder is a pharmaceutical active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in fine crystalline powder form, used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical dosage forms and industrial drug formulation production.

Usually given through mixed meal, dosages are determined using the active ingredient.

A. Poultry (Chickens, Turkeys, Pheasants)

Mebendazole is widely used in chicken farming, particularly for tapeworms and whipworms that are challenging to treat.

Mixed Feed:

• General Nematodes: 10 – 20 mg/kg body weight.
• Mass Prophylaxis: Add 30 – 60 ppm to feed (i.e., 30–60g of active ingredient per ton of feed) for 7 – 14 consecutive days.

For seven days in a row, provide 120 mg/kg of the medication in feed to gapeworms (Syngamus trachea).

B. Swine

Mostly used to manage nodular worms, whipworms (Trichuris suis), and giant roundworms (Ascaris suum).

Single Dose: 10 – 15 mg/kg body weight.

Divided Dose (Recommended): Mix in feed at 30 mg/kg (30 ppm) for 5 – 10 consecutive days.

This technique works better to prevent egg shedding and remove larvae.

C. Equine (Horses, Mules)

Horses tolerate Mebendazole very well. It is used against large and small strongyles and pinworms.

• Oral (Paste or Powder): 8 – 10 mg/kg body weight as a single dose.
• For Lungworms: 15 – 20 mg/kg body weight for 5 consecutive days.

D. Cattle & Sheep

Despite its effectiveness, albendazole is frequently chosen in ruminants because of its higher rate of absorption.

• Oral: 10 – 15 mg/kg body weight.
